Let's give 'em something to blog about...

During supper tonight Rach instant messaged me giving me grief about not blogging on this blog this week. Let me make clear right now that this is probably going to be a once a week blog!

So anyway, I was doing dishes after supper and thinking that the reason that I hadn't blogged this week is because I've been busy catching up from not really working too much on Etsy orders last week while I was getting ready for Tate's party. All of a sudden Tate was calling from upstairs that he needed help, which was odd since he was in the bathroom and he doesn't usually say he needs help in there anymore... but after walking in and bursting out in laughter Eric told me I better come with the camera. This is what we found...At first we all thought it was funny...until we tried to take it off......and realized that it was rather serious...
...and then it was NOT funny to Tate anymore, but I must admit that made Eric and me laugh harder, which in turn made Tate even more mad! Bad mom, I know...but hey...at least I didn't SHOW that his pants were around his ankles in these pictures!!After unscrewing the hard ring I did eventually get the potty training ring off of his head. Needless to say he will NOT try that again. He is laughing a little bit about it now.

Rachel, ask for a new blog entry and Tate will give us something to blog about. :)

Tate's Pirate Parrrrty!

Okay...so if you've already been reading on PD&P, this isn't going to be so much different. There are MORE pics in this slideshow than on that one, though. Thank you, family and friends, for coming to celebrate with us! Tater was sooooooooo excited and said that it "was JUST great, Mom, JUST great" after everyone left. We just love that there were so many kids there. Chaotic, yes, but so much fun. We really do appreciate you all driving from so far.

You will be happy to know that you officially have 7 months until another Newman kid has a birthday party. As of yesterday I am officially in "off season"! Of course I do already have Beckett's theme picked and have bought some paper...

Enjoy the pics. We love you all!

A new decade...a new blog!

So most of you have probably been checking in on us either on Polkadots & Pirates or Newman's Neighborhood. As we've gotten more readers on those sites, we figured it is time to keep you updated without sharing too many personal details about our lives and our kids with just anyone. We tried sharing pictures through Picasa, but as many of you who have already given me crap about it know, that stopped once I opened my shop on Etsy. I uploaded ONCE after that. Big fat FAIL on that one. So I am hoping that this will be a fun way to keep people who are interested in the loop and a good way for us to document what's going on in our lives to save for the kids when they are older.

Today is a big day for a couple of us Newmans. I am 30 today...a whole new decade for me! Our little Tater is 5 today, too. Its hard to believe the time has gone by that fast and that in a few short months he'll be in kindergarten.

Tomorrow is Tate's big pirate party that he has been dreaming about for a year now. We'll have lots more pics after the next few days, but this is one of me and my big guy from today.Tonight Eric took me out on a date, which we don't usually do on my birthday so that we can spend time with Tate, but he is super excited that Gma Sandy came to order pizza with him. Then we came to home to enjoy the cake that Eric got for me (with a little help from Rachel, of course!).
Thanks to everyone who sent birthday messages or called Tate and I...it was a wonderful day!
